Langgam Pos - The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) hosted the Grand Tengger Story Dance. The event took place at the Sand Sea of Mount Bromo on Saturday (July 27, 2024).
The Grand Tengger Story Dance, part of the Kharisma Event Nusantara Bromo Exotica 2024, is held for the fourth time this year and portrays the historical civilization of the Tengger people living around the slopes of Mount Bromo.
Attendees included Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, along with several heads of East Java Provincial Government Offices. Their arrival was welcomed by a traditional Jaran Bodag dance. Sandiaga Uno expressed that the Kharisma Nusantara Bromo Exotica event will have a significant impact on the economy. Moreover, tourist arrivals have increased by 20 percent compared to usual numbers.
"This event is a source of pride. Therefore, Kemenparekraf will support and encourage regular events here, with at least one event each month around Mount Bromo," said Sandiaga at the location.
Sandiaga Uno further noted that there should be at least two local-scale events and three national-scale events held monthly. He believes this will boost tourist visits to Mount Bromo.
"When tourist visits increase, events will encourage visitors to stay longer around Mount Bromo. To support this, I will bring investors to raise visit numbers by 20 to 30 percent," he added.
