Langgam Pos - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) has successfully hosted the Makassar International Eight Festival and Forum (F8 Makassar) 2024, showcasing the beauty and richness of Indonesian culture. Held from July 24-28, 2024, at Anjungan Pantai Losari, this vibrant event featured a diverse array of cultural elements from across the archipelago.
F8 Makassar, a grand festival, provided a platform for various cultural elements from all corners of Indonesia, including art performances, culinary delights, and traditional crafts.
The festival opened at Tugu MNEK in the CPI area on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Representing the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Restog Krisna Kusuma, Special Staff to the Minister for Creative Innovation, inaugurated the event.
Restog highlighted the theme of this year’s festival, "Unity," emphasizing the spirit of showcasing Indonesia's wealth and strength as a symbol of unity in diversity, paving the way towards Indonesia's golden future in 2045.
The event was designed to present Indonesia's cultural wealth and strength as a manifestation of national unity and progress through eight featured festivals, including food, fashion, fusion music, film, fine art, fiction writing, folk art, and flora and fauna.
Restog expressed appreciation to the Makassar Local Government for their role in organizing this year’s F8. This commitment reflects a strong spirit of advancing tourism and the creative economy in the host region.
Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan Danny Pomanto noted that F8 Makassar has transformed the city's image and demonstrated that local talent is on par with international artists.
