Langgam Pos - Google has elevated its AI chatbot, Gemini, to the next level with the Gemini 1.5 Flash model, offering faster responses and improved image understanding.
The tech giant is enhancing its AI chatbot, Gemini, with an upgrade to the Gemini 1.5 Flash model. Users can now expect quicker responses, better image comprehension, and overall enhanced performance.
According to The Verge, on Friday (July 26, 2024), one significant change introduced by Google is the increased text processing capacity. With this update, Gemini 1.5 Flash can handle four times the amount of text compared to previous versions.
This update allows Gemini to understand a broader context for each request, meaning the chatbot can provide more relevant and informative answers.
Additionally, Google has added a new feature to help users verify information. When searching for facts, the chatbot will now display links to related sources, including direct access to the needed information.
This update will be available for free to all Gemini users, both on the website and mobile app. According to VP of Engineering for Gemini Experience Amar Subramanya, this update will roll out in over 40 languages and more than 230 countries and regions.
Moreover, Google will gradually introduce Gemini to Google Messages for users in Europe. There will also be a version of Gemini for teens available in over 40 languages in the coming week.
Previously, Google launched a new Gemini sidebar that can perform tasks such as summarizing email threads and drafting new emails.
Google Adds Gemini AI Features to Gmail
According to a blog post, Google announced that this tool will offer 'proactive prompts,' but users can also ask 'free-form' questions.
The Verge reported on Tuesday (June 25, 2024), that this AI sidebar is developed to leverage Google's most capable models, such as Gemini 1.5 Pro.
On the mobile Gmail app, Google will provide Gemini capabilities that can summarize threads. This AI enhancement can be quite helpful, though it is currently available only to paid Gemini users.
To try this feature, users need to be Google Workspace subscribers with Gemini Business or Enterprise add-ons, Gemini Education or Education Premium, or Google One AI Premium.
However, The Verge advises users of AI-based services not to rely entirely on this tool when working. Always review emails created with Gemini before sending them.
In addition to email, Google has launched the Gemini sidebar feature in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive. Google promises these features are on their way to all users.
Further AI features for Gmail, including Contextual Smart Reply, are expected to be announced soon.
