Langgam Pos - A total of 70 buses have been dispatched from Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya to the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) to support the operations for Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day celebration in East Kalimantan.
The buses were initially inspected at Solo Terminal in Central Java and Purabaya Terminal in Sidoarjo, East Java. These buses are set to play a crucial role in facilitating the commemorative events on August 17, 2024.
Ana Adiliya, General Manager of Kalimas and Gapura Surya Nusantara (GSN) at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Regional 3 Sub Regional Jawa, confirmed that the buses are being transported aboard the Motor Vessel (KM) Dharma Ferry VII, owned by PT Dharma Lautan Utama (DLU). The vessel made two round trips to the East Kalimantan Port.
"On the first trip, 59 buses were transported on August 7, and they arrived in IKN last night," Ana said, as reported by Antara on August 8, 2024.
KM Dharma Ferry VII has since returned to Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya to load the remaining 11 buses, which are expected to arrive in IKN by tonight.
“We have prepared the docking facilities as planned and the vehicle waiting area has been set up two hours before the ship’s arrival,” Ana added.
PT Pelindo Regional 3 Sub Regional Jawa has also coordinated with relevant stakeholders, including the Port Authority of Tanjung Perak and Pelindo Marine Service, to ensure smooth operations.
The 70 buses were thoroughly checked and met all requirements, including roadworthiness certification (KIR), vehicle registration documents (STNK), and tourism operation permits before being dispatched.
