Recent rumors suggest that Apple will soon introduce a smart ring, following Samsung’s lead in this emerging market.
On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Apple reportedly filed a patent for its smart ring.
According to the information from this patent filing, the Apple smart ring will feature advanced health tracking capabilities.
As reported by ZDNet on Thursday, August 15, 2024, the Apple smart ring will be able to monitor various health metrics, including heart rate and blood oxygen levels.
These features align with those offered by other smart rings, such as those from Samsung, Oura, and Ultrahuman.
These products are known for their ability to monitor body temperature and heart rate variability.
Interestingly, the Apple smart ring will also be able to control other Apple devices, including adjusting speaker volume or managing features on the Apple Vision Pro.
Currently, Samsung is one of the latest tech companies to introduce this type of wearable device. Debuting at Galaxy Unpacked 2024 in Paris, France, the Samsung Galaxy Ring received positive feedback from consumers.
Equipped with health sensors, Samsung claims its smart ring offers a comprehensive range of health tracking features.
Unfortunately, consumers in Indonesia will have to wait indefinitely to purchase the Galaxy Ring in the country.
"As of now, we have no plans to launch the Galaxy Ring in Indonesia," said Annisa Nurul Maulina, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Samsung Electronics Indonesia.
