Langgam Pos - Donald Trump is making waves once again, this time in the world of cryptocurrency fashion. Following his recent speech at the Bitcoin Conference, where he addressed over 3,000 attendees, Trump has launched a limited-edition line of sneakers featuring a bold Bitcoin theme.
According to News.bitcoin.com, Trump Sneakers—a website selling Trump-themed footwear and fragrances—recently introduced a collection of high-top sneakers celebrating Bitcoin. Each pair was priced at $499 (approximately IDR 8 million) for pre-order, and with only 1,000 pairs available, they quickly sold out.
The exclusive sneakers, adorned with prominent Bitcoin symbols, are described as a celebration of Trump's vision for financial future and leadership. "Perfect for crypto enthusiasts and Trump supporters, these limited-edition sneakers are a must-have," the product description reads.
In addition to the high-tops, the collection included 1,000 pairs of bright orange low-tops and 1,000 pairs in black, each priced at $299 (about IDR 4.8 million). The bright orange color is associated with support for Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
The high-top orange sneakers sold out by Thursday morning, with some pre-orders now listed on eBay for as high as $2,500 (IDR 40 million).
It's worth noting that Trump Sneakers is owned by CIC Ventures LLC, a company fully owned by Trump as per his 2023 financial disclosures. However, the website clarifies that these sneakers are not affiliated with Trump's political campaign and were neither designed, sold, nor produced by Trump or his associates.
The release of the Bitcoin-themed sneakers coincided with Trump's Nashville conference speech, where he expressed intentions to dismiss SEC Chairman Gary Gensler and establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve if elected in the 2024 U.S. Presidential election. Trump promised to be a "pro-Bitcoin" president and vowed not to sell the 213,239 BTC seized by authorities and held in U.S. government wallets.
