Langgam Pos - Defense Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed his commitment to continue and complete the construction of the new capital city, Ibu Kota Negara (IKN) Nusantara. Prabowo emphasized this commitment during a Plenary Cabinet Session held at the Garuda Palace in IKN Nusantara, East Kalimantan, on Monday, August 12, 2024.
Prabowo underscored the importance of the IKN project, particularly in promoting equitable development across the country and reducing the burden on Java Island, which has long been the center of population and economic activity.
"I think it's clear, and I have emphasized several times that we will complete the IKN project, and we will do it well because it is truly needed," said Prabowo Subianto.
Prabowo also promised to expedite the construction process of IKN Nusantara, especially the government center. "I want to assure the Authority (IKN Nusantara) that the budget space we have prepared is substantial. I believe we can complete several important aspects of this IKN project."
The first Plenary Cabinet Session held in IKN Nusantara served as a clear indication of the incoming administration's commitment to continue the vision of developing IKN, initiated by President Joko Widodo, and to ensure the readiness of IKN as Indonesia's new center of government.
