Samsung Rumored to Launch Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim with Titanium Frame

Langgam Pos - Samsung is rumored to be launching the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim with a titanium frame later this year in China and Korea.

Speculation about the release of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim, featuring a titanium frame, has already begun circulating. This foldable smartphone, designed like a book, is expected to debut with a slimmer design and a larger display compared to the standard Galaxy Z Fold6.

According to a report from The Elec, Samsung is currently in the final stages of deciding whether to use stainless steel or titanium for the backplate of the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim. If the decision to use titanium is finalized, it would mark the first time Samsung has applied this material to a foldable device. Previously, the company introduced titanium construction with the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Samsung's shift to titanium is driven by its superior strength and lighter weight compared to stainless steel and aluminum. However, there could be some trade-offs, such as the possibility that the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim may not support the S Pen. Despite this, Samsung seems to be favoring titanium due to its advantages in strength and lightness.

Mass Production Underway

The report also indicates that some components of the Galaxy Z Fold6 Slim have already entered mass production, with Samsung expected to make a final decision on the backplate material soon. This foldable phone may launch in the fourth quarter of 2024, but only in China and South Korea.

Should this change prove successful, we could see titanium used more widely in the Galaxy Z Fold7 next year. This innovation is highly anticipated!

Galaxy Z Fold6 Specifications: Samsung's Lightest and Slimmest Foldable

Earlier this year, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 was officially launched in Indonesia, featuring a thin and lightweight design, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a powerful camera, and various other exciting features.

The main differences between the Galaxy Z Fold6 and its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip5, lie in the design and the enhanced capabilities of Galaxy AI, making it even smarter and more user-friendly.

Unlike previous years, when foldable smartphones were typically bulky and heavy, the Galaxy Z Fold6 has become Samsung's slimmest and lightest book-style foldable smartphone to date.

The Galaxy Z Fold6 now boasts a more boxy, symmetrical design with straight edges. Its durability has also been enhanced thanks to the use of a dual rail hinge and reinforced folding edge.

This Android device features a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X (Infinity Flex) main display with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,856 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The front display measures 6.3 inches, with the same display type and a resolution of 2,376 x 986 pixels, also with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy Z Fold6’s screen brightness reaches 2,600 nits.

Weighing in at 239 grams, the smartphone is 14 grams lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold5, which weighed 253 grams.
